Prose writers are kind of like poets’ poor relations. We live in modest cottages instead of on the family’s ancestral estate, we do our own washing, we marry parsons and even our first-born sons join the navy. And actually, we are way more fun to be around. Plus, you put us in a nice ball-gown and we’re just as pretty and cultured as poetry. We can even play the pianoforte.
So remember:
just because we don’t
put line breaks
after every
significant
word
doesn’t mean prose ain’t beautiful or rhythmic. Like good special effects, those aspects of prose are best hidden from view where they won’t mess up the story. Their influence is felt subconsciously.
So forget I even mentioned it.
And let’s go-go-gadget-prose!
Fiction
My grandpa is notorious for certain quirks. One of them is wondering – loudly – why anyone would read fiction. Grandpa, I have no idea. I just write the stuff.

Non-fiction
Just because something’s labeled non-fiction doesn’t mean it isn’t lying. But you can trust me. Here’s a random sampling from Yours Truly. Truly. Sometimes creative, sometimes not.
